Help me pick a color. I'm at a loss tonight.
PS: The pink has a blue shimmer that doesn't show in the photo.

Polish hunt '09 is at an end! My aunt in Florida found me two bottles.
I so squeed and happydanced.

A mission!

I'm trying to track down a bottle of a very particular polish. China Glaze, the brand I fangirl over, released a gorgeous limited edition called Fortune Teller on October 1st. The tricky part? It was ONLY released to Sally Beauty stores. My local doesn't have it, but if someone can find a bottle and send it to, me, I'll pay 'em back. It's this or pay double the price on eBay later. $10 for polish is a bit hard to stomach.

There's a lot of cliched shit I could say but I won't. Just that I have a lot of good high school memories that shouldn't have this ache added to them so soon.
He'll be sorely missed.

Teaching degrees

To all my friends in education careers, I pose a question.
I'm looking into going back to school for a teaching degree. Would be a waste of time to seek a degree online? Would it be harder to find a job versus a degree from a brick and mortar school?

I got fired today. Money went missing, I got blamed despite there being no solid evidence pointing to me...I'd never steal even if it meant going without food. But as the only other possible person is manager's friend, I get the blame. I gave them $94 I couldn't really spare to avoid a $300 ticket and now I swear off shoe sales for good. I'd prefer to never work retail again...

Well.
In about two weeks, after the month is out, the boyfriend and I shall be moving in with his mother and stepfather. It's not our ideal living situation, as we'll be sleeping in separate rooms, at least until we've shown some stability. I can cope, since it's rent-free, just a matter of pulling our own weight. After Josh graduates next year, we're really wanting to move our asses to Kentucky. I'm happier there, rent and such is cheaper, and considering we're going to plan a wedding once we're settled and then procreate...I want my mother near.
so that's life right now. Oh, and 50+ hour work weeks for me. My heels feel bruised and achy.

I have no desire to go more in-depth than this post, so please don't ask.
Doc and I are getting divorced. It's amicable, just going our separate ways. I'm staying in Cheyenne for a while at least, he and Fuzzy are likely heading back to St. Louis.

Incredibly unhappy and faced with choices I can't make.
Terribly confused about what to do.
Utterly unwilling to talk about it.

getting myself a 40% employee discount at a shoe store was the most dangerous move ever. I've already bought three new pairs of shoes.

I seem to trail potting soil everywhere these days. Imagine if I had an in-ground garden to get down and dirty in!

Urge to be an urban gardener.

spring
This time of year always make me miss the South. By now, daffodils are poking out there heads and the violets will be appearing in the woods before much longer. Here in Wyoming, we're just getting hints of green grass.
This year, I'm bringing spring to myself. My craft desk is almost completely covered by mini plastic greenhouses (Jiffy, whoo! Convenient and reusable.) I've got a terrarium starting in a glass fishbowl, mostly moss and some flower seedling. Plus chives, for the hell of it. They'll look like tall grass in that tiny world. There's more a few more flower seeds sprouting in a greenhouse. Aubrieta, some failing alyssum, thriving forget-me-nots, stubborn lavender, and lobelia. The lobelia seeds seem to have magically multiplied, and invaded some of the herb planting I sprouted it with (planted later than the other flowers, seeds were a pain to track down locally.)
Already sprouting in my herbs is more chives, sweet basil, and possibly parsley. Or possibly just more lobelia. It's lucky I adore those flowers/
I got a big-big Jiffy greenhouse last night and planted radishes, a leaf lettuce mix, dwarfish carrots, cherry tomatoes, and banana peppers, plus fernleaf dill, oregano, and more parsley, since I have no faith in my other sprouts. All the veggies will be going in five-gallon buckets eventually, to be shuffled between the backporch and outside our front windows, depending on the time of day. The backporch gets partial sunlight at best, but we live an apartment building - folk will get cranky if I leave plastic buckets full of plants in front of the building all the time. Hence few plants that need sun-ripening.
I'm hoping to manage it this year. I made the mistake of leaving my greenhouses outside last year and wind or teenagers knocked the poor babies over. Same fate for herbs from [info]lilith70 that were in small pots. Destined to live in a nice long planter, the herbs will stay mostly indoors this go round, except the chives. Toxicity to kitties mean they're destined for the outside. If the veggies do well this year, I'd love to expand next year. Growing our own food means a little more safety in the current economy. That's always a blessing.
Cross your fingers for me, so that I might grow my favorite fruit, too

Bless tax returns.
